Baille Gelwicks graduated from The Art Institute of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She received a broad education with a curriculum encompassing everything from web marketing and public relations to fashion-show production and design basics. After graduation, she worked in the marketing and communications field until finding her true home as an event planner.

During her years as a marketing and communications specialist, Gelwicks prepared newsletter and email content to promote company products and programs. She was in charge of developing social media campaigns to increase brand awareness and audience engagement, and also managed events at annual conferences and trade shows. A respected force in the communications department, Gelwicks’ team was recognized with the 2013 MarCom Award for best in-house publication. She also spearheaded the launch of a social media column in the July/August 2014 edition of the GAMA International Journal.

Gelwicks’ work as an event planner has elevated the fashion and art presence in Washington, D.C., through conceptual fashion events with a focus on non-profit fundraisers. As her reputation for innovative and memorable events grew, so did her client list, which now includes non-profit groups, military organizations and private entrepreneurs.

Baille Gelwicks’ passion for helping clients achieve their goals and her innate gift for developing marketing campaigns allows her to consistently create successful events that fit the customer’s needs.

Lynn Maia has honed her event planning skills through an extensive career. Lynn worked for the Department of Defense as an executive officer where she fell into her own planning a variety of events for the Army Career and Alumni Program.  Excelling in PAC management later in her career, Lynn successfully established innovative methods to fundraise faster, cheaper and with fewer resources through events and technology. Her success in marketing PAC’s by increasing association membership knowledge, resulted in profitable fundraising seasons.

Lynn is currently pursuing her MBA with a specialization in project management, a logical next step after years of managerial experience with the military, customer service, law enforcement, and medical industries. For Lynn, the key to every successful event is utilizing the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) best practices. Maintaining a detailed and accurate schedule, working with well-defined budgetary constraints and adapting quickly to potential project scope changes is Lynn’s cup of tea.
